| Bangladesh Christian Book Fair 2010
To reach Christian literacy to both Non-believers and believers, Bangladesh Christian Publication Forum (an initiative of National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh) held the Christian Book Fair 2010 at Dhaka during April 12-14, 2010.
Starting from the year 2007, the movement is growing every year with a great encouragement by increasing number of visitors.
In Bangladesh the Christian literacy resources are very limited. There are very few Christian writers. But whatever the resources are, they need to be known to the Christian community. The younger generation should be introduced with these. Non-believers should be introduced with them. At the same time when all Christian publishers meet one point, they can see the Christian literacy at a glance and can take initiative for future development.
State minister for Cultural Affairs, Advocate Promod Mankhin addressed the Book Fair as a contemporary and bold initiative by the Forum while he inaugurated the Fair.
Rev. James Saberio Karmoker, the Secretary General (Hon’y) of the Christian Publication Forum expressed his desire to expand this Fair to different parts of the country to attract the younger generations and to boost Christian publishers and writers.
Bangladesh Bible Society finds this Fair as a great movement to attract the whole community.
Ishee-Jamat Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bible Society, Society for Environment and Human Development, Association of Baptist (ABWE), Shikkha Kalyan Trust, Seventh Day Adventist, Education Development Project, Student Christian Movement, Christian Coalition Bangladesh, The Christian Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., The Swargo Morto, Resource Center for the Christian Youth in Bangladesh, Presbyterian Church in Bangladesh Trust, Handicrafts and National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh joined at this Fair and turned out with a good impact.
Each evening was full of cultural programs and promotion of newly published books. Visitors were inspired by the opening song of the Blind girls of the Baptist Mission Integrated School.
